Turn a WebP download into a PNG your editor accepts

Use this converter when an editor, slide template or upload form asks for PNG and you have a WebP instead. Add the file and choose Convert to PNG. The browser reads the image and writes a new PNG file; changing the filename alone cannot do that.

Check what the destination accepts before converting. If it already opens your WebP correctly, a PNG copy may serve no purpose. Keep the original alongside the converted version, especially for a downloaded illustration or logo you may reuse.

Keep the clear edges around a WebP logo

PNG supports the transparency already present in a WebP, including partly transparent edges and shadows. This conversion does not add a white fill behind the graphic. Place the saved PNG over a colored shape in your editor to inspect the outline.

A white rectangle or a checkerboard painted into the source is still image content. Converting cannot turn those pixels into empty space. Use the separate Background Remover if the picture needs a cutout, then check the selection before placing it in a design.

Lossless PNG cannot restore missing WebP detail

PNG encoding does not apply another lossy compression setting to the rendered picture. There is no quality slider here because PNG output is fixed. That is useful for an editing copy, but the word lossless does not mean a blurry source becomes sharp.

Any compression marks already visible in the WebP can remain in the PNG. Browser decoding and canvas rendering also mean this is not a promise of identical file metadata or color profiles. Keep the source for work that depends on its original color information.

More PNG bytes do not mean more pixels

The converter keeps the decoded image dimensions, but the file size can grow. PNG and WebP store image data differently; a PNG of a detailed photograph can be much heavier. There is no fixed size multiplier that applies to every source.

Check the resulting dimensions and byte size before sending the file. Very large pictures also need memory while they are decoded and rendered. If the PNG cannot be created, reduce the WebP dimensions or use a device with more memory for the decoded graphic. This page does not set a target file size.

A moving WebP becomes a still picture here

This path converts a decoded bitmap into a still PNG. It does not export an animated PNG or a sequence of frames, and it has no frame selector. A moving sticker therefore will not keep playing in the result.

Keep the animated WebP if motion matters. For an individual frame from an animation, use a tool with explicit frame extraction so you can choose the moment you want. This converter is intended for a still logo, illustration or photograph.

Convert a local WebP before choosing further edits

The image is processed inside your browser, without uploading it for conversion. The website still needs to load its code and can make service requests, including error reports.
