Turn the existing picture into a round avatar

Start with a portrait, pet photo or logo you already want to use. The maker takes a square portion of the image, draws it inside a circle and places an optional ring around it. It does not retouch skin, change an expression or create a new face.

Keep hair and chin inside the circular frame

The source square uses the shorter side of the photo. Wide images are cropped from the horizontal center. Tall portraits use a slightly higher square, which can help include a face near the top; this is a fixed framing rule, not face detection.

There is no drag-to-position or zoom control in this maker. If the face is off to one side, prepare a square around it with Image Cropper first. Leave space around hair, ears and chin. A circle still hides the corners of that square, so a tight crop can lose details even when the face is centered.

Balance the colored ring against the face

Use Ring to choose the border color. In Advanced, Ring width changes its thickness; set it to zero for a plain circular photo. A thicker ring also reduces the space used by the photograph, so inspect whether the face has become too small.

The ring sits outside the photo with a narrow gap between them. That gap follows the corner background setting. Try a restrained ring for a small avatar, and judge the result at the size where people will actually see it.

Separate empty corners from the backdrop behind you

Corners offers Transparent or White, starting at Transparent. This affects the empty area around the circular picture. It does not identify the person or erase a room, wall or landscape inside the circle. Use Background Remover first when you need a subject cutout.

The export is a square image file that supports transparency. A destination may display transparent areas against its own background. If that produces an unwanted dark box, try the solid corner option. Keep the saved image instead of taking a screenshot, which captures whatever was behind the preview.

Choose avatar dimensions without expecting new detail

Size offers 400 px, 800 px, 1024 px or 2048 px; the starting choice is 1024 px. It sets both sides of the square output. Match the destination’s current requirements instead of assuming every social network wants the same dimensions. This maker has fixed size choices rather than a platform-specific preset list.

A small original can be enlarged to fill the selected canvas, but resizing cannot recover missing facial detail. Begin with a clear source and compare the result at a small display size. Very large inputs may be reduced while loading to fit the browser’s available canvas capacity.

Frame a personal photo locally or create a new portrait

The crop and ring use the browser’s drawing tools on your device. There is no generative model in this framing operation, and your photo is not sent to a server to make the avatar. Framing a portrait locally still requires network requests to load the avatar editor.
