Make a Photo Background White nothing stored

Add your picture, choose whether to add a shadow, and run the tool. It finds the foreground and replaces the surrounding area with white. Review the subject outline in the comparison preview.

The fill is pure white before export. Blended edges, an enabled shadow and image compression can make nearby pixels differ from that fill. Sample the saved file away from the subject if an exact value is needed.

An enabled Soft shadow adds a gray shadow to the white backdrop. Disable it and process again to remove that added shading. If a fringe remains at the outline, the subject selection may still contain part of the old background.

Original-shadow retention is not guaranteed. The shadow option creates a new one from the subject selection; it is not a copy of the photographed shadow. Keep your source for an editor that lets you preserve that shadow separately.

The tool is not a whole-photo whitening filter, but it does adjust colors near the detected edge. Export also compresses the image. Compare pale fabrics, fine labels and reflective areas; unchanged color at every pixel is not promised.

You can try. The model identifies a subject instead of erasing every light-colored pixel, but a pale subject against a pale source background can be difficult to separate. Check the full silhouette for missing parts.

Fine strands can be missed by automatic selection or changed by edge cleanup. Try a sharper source with clearer separation from its backdrop. This page has no brush to restore individual strands.

Treat those results cautiously. The original surroundings may show through the material, and the tool does not reconstruct how light would pass through it on a new backdrop. Inspect the interior as well as the outer edge.

This workflow runs subject detection again, even on an existing cutout, so it can change an outline you already prepared. To retain that selection, place the original cutout over a white layer in your image editor instead.

Dimensions remain at the loaded canvas size, which may already be reduced for device limits. JPEG encoding is lossy, and subject-edge processing can change fine detail. Keep the source rather than treating the result as an unchanged master.

Use a current browser that supports the required local processing features. No separate editing app is needed, but older browsers or memory-constrained phones may struggle. Reducing the product photo or portrait, or processing the white fill on a computer, may help.

The edit reads your local file and processes its pixels in the browser. Loading the page and processing model still makes network requests; that is separate from sending the photo to a server.

The browser may need to fetch the model before finding your subject. Later edits can reuse it while the cache remains available. Processing time still varies with the device and image.
